You don't understand, do you.

Faer meant that Carrey CAN play an evil character. Just because he was told to play him a bit "less evil" doesn't mean he wouldn't if they told him to.

I'm sure Jim Carrey could play the riddler in a much darker way and make him fit into the new films but lets face it, its not what Jim Carrey does best, if you are going to ask him to play it straight and sinister then you may as well just get someone like Johnny Deep who is more suited to those roles.
Also I 'd love to have a Catwoman in the next film, although she doesn't deserve a big role. The penguin would not fit in the new style of films (imo).

Nightow after following your link to the wiki article for Batman's enemies I think your suggestion of Hugo Strange would be really good. I am not familiar with the batman universe other than the films/tv series but after reading this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hugo_Strange) I think him as the bad guy could be really good, mainly because I think a batman/zombie crossover film would be epic.

I'd still like to see a properly done Bane. Thorne and Black Mask would also be great if they don't wanna go on the superpowered track.

Much as I'd like to blame him, it was another actor that did Forbidden Kingdom. Not much difference in their acting styles though.
Judging from how well the last film with Bane did, I don't think we'll be seeing him and his cohorts any time soon.

And thank you for clarifying that, it was Michael Angarano and not Shia. My bad.

Zombies aside, yes I do believe he would fit in nicely with Nolan's version of the Batman universe. He is genuinely realistic, has a long lasting history with the caped crusader (Some say he was Batman's first recurring villain, circa 1940) and has been in many other adaptations of the Batman storyline.

Eddie playing Riddler would be pitiful. Doctor Who might be able to work it, but Depp would be outstanding for the role. Penguin would be difficult to mesh into the more modern darkness of Nolan's films, but if he were to show up I'd want Hoffman playing him. An idea for Two Face: Ed Norton.

Not that I think Nolan would dream of pulling something like this off but comics are known for their "retcons."

"retconing" in comics is not so much modifying a particular (story) arc as destroying/creating a parallel one.

long running series all run into the same problem. for it to be worthwhile to push that giant "reset" button the subject matter has to become stale or just plain wrong.

current movie version of DK is too satisfying to warrant a reset imo...even though the death of Heath Ledger has probably shortened it quite a bit, rather than screw it all up with a lame "joker spinoff" like Quinn they would be well advised to keep away from him or start again.

I would disagree with many of you; Shia is pretty sexeh, but yeh.... no Robin unless he is older.

Riddler = a go

Catwoman = stretching it a bit

Hugo Strange = a go

Mr. Freeze = a big stretch

Two Face = already there

Poison Ivy = very possible

And why is Poision Ivy "Very Possible" and yet Mr. Freeze is just a "big stretch"? They were both in the same horrible film and they both came off as very cheesy characters in the eyes of many.

Uh, Nolan has stated multiple times that he will not include Robin in his movies.

As for The Riddler... hehe, I'd like to see Guy Pearce working with Nolan again; this time though, instead of tattooed notes on his body, it'll be question marks.

I recently read the new Joker graphic novel, and damn, it'd interesting to see Killer Croc and Harley Quinn in Nolan's "world". Their portrayal in the story is quite realistic: Croc being a big black thug with bad skin condition and Harley being a cold-blood killer with a prostitute-like appearance.

For any Batfans who love Nolan's vision or Heath's Joker, I suggest you to pick it up; great read.

Yeah, let's do the math here...
If I want to watch a hot woman, I'll watch a porn. If I want to watch Batman, I'd rather not have a stupid character like Catwoman in it.

I think the movie "The Number 23" was evidence enough that Jim Carrey can play a serious, dark role.
This.

I'm positive Jim Carrey would be able to play the Riddler in the current Batman series. However, I'm sure they'll look for a new one.

That is irrelevant. The reason Ivy would be possible is because she could be portrayed as just a crazy woman and seductress. Freeze is way to SciFi for Nolan's world.

Any villain grounded in reality will work; scifi crazy ones won't.

Huntress or Azrael would be a better choice than Robin. Bane or Hush are more interesting to see than the classic bad guys as well.

On top of that it would be a great continuation with Bruce looking for a woman to bury his sorrows in. After the death of his long loved woman... I would prefer Harley Quinn as well =), being that the joker will not be in the next one. Still its a long time till the next batman will come out, about two more years.. Who knows whats going to happen.
